Research Managers provide the critical link between our
clients and the GLG Councils, by helping leading investment
analysts leverage primary research to make better decisions.

General Description of the Research Manager
The Research Manager in Shanghai will report directly to
Practice Area Leader in Hong Kong. This individual will be
responsible for servicing prospective and existing professional
service firm clients based in the Asia-Pacific region, which
includes Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore, Korea, Japan and
Australia. The Research Manager is expected to generate and satisfy
client demand across their respective industry vertical (Energy
& Industrials - EI, Consumer Goods & Services - CGS, or
Technology Media & Telecommunications - TMT), as well as assist
regional sales representatives in introducing the product to new
clients. The Research Manager will also be required to work with
Council Management to recruit members to the Councils of EI, CGS, or TMT
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Qualified applicants will:

Facilitate consultation requests for EI, CGS or TMT
in Asia and other regions as needed

Generate project demand within existing Asian clients
-
Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders in
the industry
-
Recruit industry professionals in EI, CGS,
or TMT through large-scale recruiting campaigns
-
Coordinate and host International events and
roundtable meetings
-
Host in-office meetings with senior advisors and clients
-
Identify experts with pertinent insights for Gerson
Lehrman Group’s clients in the industry
-
Manage large-scale Council development through
partnerships with international and domestic associations
and companies
-
Work closely with teams across Asia, Europe and
North America to facilitate ongoing client service, Council
development and event management.
Favored applicants will have:

Undergraduate degree
-
1 to 2 years technical or financial industry experience
-
Demonstrated entrepreneurial / leadership skills
-
Experience interacting with senior executives
-
Native English skills with knowledge of at least
one foreign language, preferably Mandarin, Korean or Japanese
